Ruth’s love for hairstyling began in the Virgin Islands, where she learned how to braid hair at a young age. Influenced by the natural beauty of her Caribbean surroundings, she discovered how ingredients from the earth could deeply nourish and strengthen hair. Those early lessons became the foundation of her unique styling and care approach.
After moving to North Carolina, Ruth was inspired to turn her passion into purpose. While continuing to work a 9–5 job, she began building Styled By Ruth from the ground up, taking clients part-time and investing deeply in each one. Her journey is one of patience, intention, and love—qualities you’ll feel in every braid, twist, and touch.
